PSYCHIC MARKERS FIELDS OF ABSTRACTION

London-based outfit Psychic Markers have a talent for blending woozy nostalgia with glistening dream-pop and they've certainly lived up to expectations on their glorious new ballad 'Fields of Abstraction'. Taken from their second album Hardly Strangers, which comes out today (23rd February) via Bella Union, 'Fields of Abstraction' pulls together touches of Velvet Underground, Smith Westerns and Beach House in a quintessentially British fashion. The tracks' romantic vibe is accentuated by the beautifully directed video, which sees the quintet serenading us whilst surrounded by a bed of floral blooms. Discussing the track singer Steven Dove said, “It’s about memory and how sometimes it can let us down or distort the view of something you once saw so clearly. I find both great joy and sadness in focussing on old memories, I’m a very nostalgic person and a fading memory is a bereavement we all have to deal with.” -HLMX
